Te Wiki o te reo Maori
TE WIKI O TE REO MĀORI
Kia ora tatou katoa! This week we celebrate the Māori Language as a nation. The initiative began in 1975 and is growing in popularity as more people begin to recognise the importance of aiming to keep the language alive. Practice saying any Māori words or phrases you know to your whanau (family) and ngā hoa (friends).
This year the theme is ‘Te Kupu o te Wiki' (Words of the Week). There will be 50 words for 50 weeks.
The kupu for this week is āpōpō (tomorrow). Please practice saying the phrases below:
Ka kite āpōpō! (See you tomorrow)
He rā anō āpōpō (Tomorrow is another day)
