On Thursday the 23rd of October, all the senior kapa haka students left to spend the day at Karori West school, representing Kilbirnie. We performed with Houghton Valley school after practising with them several times. The performance was amazing and went down really well with the audience. Performing second, Kilbirnie school had some nerves but sang confidently. There were 9 schools (some joint) and they each had a maximum of 15 minutes. Each school had unique songs and actions which Kilbirnie school might learn someday. We stunned the audience with Takahia paki and it received the most amount of applause out of all our songs. Everyone enjoyed the day and can’t wait till it happens again!
