Mrs Jacqui Brown

Hi,

My name is Jacqui Brown and I’m one of the two Deputy Principals at Kilbirnie School and Junior Syndicate Leader. I have been at this school for over 20 years and am proud to say that two of my children were educated here.

I teach in Room 2 (New Entrant/Year 1) but as the numbers are usually low at the beginning of the year, I don’t open up my classroom until Term 2.  However, I work very closely with the junior teachers and can often be found working in one of their rooms for part of the day.

In Term 1, whilst I am not in the classroom, I set up a Parent Tutoring Programme, which involves a number of parents working in the junior syndicate, helping children with their reading.  If you are interested in helping out, please contact me on jacqui@kilbirnie.school.nz or by phoning the office (04) 939 2311.  I also take Reading Recovery and this involves me working with three children individually, for 30 minutes, on a daily basis.

My job is certainly varied and I feel very privileged to be involved in a job I love so much.

  Jacqui
