Mrs Jacqui Brown

My name is Jacqui Brown and I’m one of the two Deputy Principals at Kilbirnie School and Junior Syndicate Leader. I have been at this school for over 20 years and am proud to say that two of my children were educated here.

I teach in Room 2 (New Entrant/Year 1) but as the numbers are usually low at the beginning of the year, I don’t open up my classroom until Term 2.  However, I work very closely with the junior teachers and can often be found working in one of their rooms for part of the day.

In Term 1, whilst I am not in the classroom, I set up a Parent Tutoring Programme, which involves a number of parents working in the junior syndicate, helping children with their reading.  If you are interested in helping out, please contact me on or by phoning the office (04) 939 2311.  I also take Reading Recovery and this involves me working with three children individually, for 30 minutes, on a daily basis.

My job is certainly varied and I feel very privileged to be involved in a job I love so much.
