Nga mihi nui ki a koutou.
Our kapa haka group consists of about 30 talented and committed students. Kapa haka is held in the hall on Tuesday lunchtimes, from 12.30 – 1.00pm. We are supported by Nanny Ora Thompson, her moko (grandchild) Hana, and Ms Johnston.
Our Senior Choir consists of 20-30 year 4 – 6 students.
As well as singing at school events, the choir participates in interschool events such as the annual Artsplash event which is a young person's arts festival bringing together primary and intermediate schools throughout the Wellington region to celebrate dance, drama, music and the visual arts.
The Kilbirnie School Chess Club is held on Monday lunchtime in the library. Jacqui Becker runs the club.
The Club includes tutoring and game playing, and there are sometimes opportunities to enter tournaments. All students are welcome regardless of chess knowledge. Students are reminded about club meetings on the morning of the meetings. More information...
